Orbit College have been promoted to the Betway Premiership following a 1-0 win over Cape Town City, who have been relegated to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
The host were the match-winner from the last match, Lethabo Modimoeng, through suspension, while City welcomed back Amadou Soukouna in place of Kayden Francis.
City, who needed a win to keep their top flight hopes alive, were on the front-foot earlier on and saw a snap shot from Haashim Domingo drew Sekhoane Moerane to a save.
Another telling move involving Petrus Tjiueza granted Soukouna to step in to the edge of the area and get a shot in, but it was too close to Moerane.
Orbit regained courage following the slow start with Gomolemo Khoto and Letsie Koapeng seeing a lot of the ball, but City held on strong at the back.
After a goalless first half, the Citizens were pegged back two minutes into the second half when Koapeng stepped ahead of Lorenzo Gordinho and steered in a well-worked cross from Khoto.
City now had their backs firmly against the wall and decided to bring on a fresh pair of legs, as Fortune Makaringe replaced Nathan Fasika while the young Emile Witbooi came on for Tjiueza.
The move injected a sense of urgency particularly in the forward areas where the presence of Soukouna unsettled the defence, but still no goal followed for the Citizens.
Orbit sat deep in the closing minutes and played on the counter-attack, with the visitors pushing numbers in a quest to grab the equaliser.
The day belonged to the men from the North West provincel who sealed the victory and a spot in the Betway Premiership next season while City will be playing in the Championship next season.
