It has now emerged that the Citizens are close to securing the services of the Garankuwa-born midfielder after agreeing terms with the player.
Ziba was on the wanted list of Golden Arrows, SuperSport United and Orlando Pirates before the Cape Town-based outfit moved swiftly for a pre-contract.
According to sources close to the Eric Tinkler-led team, Ziba was spotted by the club's scouts during the Shaka Easter Soccer Tournament held in Tshwane early this month.
"He is one of the players that was scouted during the Kasi tournaments by our scouts in Gauteng. All the parties have agreed terms after being offered a very good contract by the club," said a source.
Ziba, who stays a few streets away from former Maritzburg United goalkeeper King Ndlovu's house in Garankuwa Zone 1, sacrificed his studies a few years ago to pursue his dream in football.
"He was a very smart kid at school. He passed his matric and went to study Information Technology at Tshwane College.

He later dropped out of school to focus on football after JDR Stars spotted him from Buya Msuthu," said a close relative.
