Matsatsantsa were made to come from behind twice as Keegan Ritchie and Thuso Phala scored on either side of half-time.
Kick-off of the clash was delayed by 40 minutes after the team bus of Horoya was reportedly late to collect them from their hotel ahead of the match.
The hosts enjoyed large amounts of possession in the opening half-hour but failed to produce anything of substance from it. Fagrie Lakay had a wayward shot at goal in the 10th minute, while Baolefa Pule was forced to save a set-piece after 15 minutes.
Horoya took the lead four minutes after the half-hour mark as poor defending from Mario Booysen allowed Jean Francios Ebele to head home the opener.
SuperSport were back on level terms just four minutes later, though, with Ritchie curling home a spectacular free-kick from around 22 yards out.
The visitors took just six minutes after the restart to restore their lead as Sebe Baffour's powerful low shot found its way through the SuperSport defence, before beating goalkeeper Pule to his right.
Substitute Phala eventually found the equaliser for the Tshwane side as he collected a pass from Reneilwe Letsholonyane, after Jeremy Brockie did well to let the ball run through his legs, and slotted home from inside the box in the 83rd minute.
Phala could have stolen the victory late into stoppage time but scuffed a volley at the backpost.
SuperSport: Pule, Kekana, Mashamaite, Booysen, Ritchie, Furman, Letsholonyane, Morton, Masango (Brockie 73'), Modiba (Phala 64'), Lakay (Mokoena 85').
