The Buccaneers will play Tunisian side Etoile du Sahel at Orlando Stadium on Saturday in the first leg of the Final and Komphela feels Pirates can finish the job they started in March.
“As much as they are our rivals, it is great news for South Africa,” he says.
“If they are doing well they are also carrying a flag for South Africa and if you go back to history, when Pirates won the CAF Champions League in 1995, we [Bafana Bafana] also won the Africa Cup of Nations in 1996, so that rubs off to the South African football scene.
“We wish them well and we hope they go on and win it,” he adds.
