Roger De Sa offers former team Orlando Pirates advice ahead of Cup FInal

The Bucs take on Etoile du Sahel at Orlando Stadium looking to go one better than two years ago when they suffered an aggregate 3-1 defeat to Al Ahly in the CAF Champions League Final under the guidance of De Sa.

The former Pirates coach has highlighted a key area the Soweto Giants should concentrate on in their quest for continental glory.

“I think the key factor for Pirates on Saturday is not to concede,” De Sa told reporters. “Everyone talks about having to score, but I think not conceding is going to be a bigger issue. If you can take a 0-0 with you, it’s a lot better than if you concede a goal and still win the game.”

De Sa feels that ploy may result in a less-than-entertaining affair in Orlando, but may work into Pirates’ hands heading into the away leg the following weekend.

“Go with a zero, because the way Pirates play, and the way those teams play at home – they open up a bit – Pirates can score,” he continued. “My view is for them to keep it tight; it could be a bit boring at home, but keep it tight at the back, and if you can sneak a 1-0 win, it’s fantastic, but I think the clean sheet will be key at home.”

Kick-off is set for 8pm on Saturday evening.
