The midfielder feels the pressure got to some Buccaneers in the first leg at home, resulting in the late goal conceded against Etoile du Sahel. But the 29-year-old feels that playing away will ease the shackles.
“Going into the second leg we have a slight advantage given the fact that it is difficult playing at home,” Makola says. “You have to score and at the same time look at not conceding.
“So I think if we catch them on the back-foot over the weekend we will do well.”
Makola, who was part of the 2013 team which lost to Al-Ahly in the CAF Champions League Final, feels that the experience they gained there will be key on Sunday.
“The majority of the team that we have now was actually playing in 2013. We know what to expect now and I think we will do well,” he said.
The Bafana Bafana midfielder says he also wants to end the year on a high note by lifting the trophy.
“It has been a good run for me this year, so it will be disappointing to end it without having anything to show for it. I need this one and I think the team wants it as much as I want it. So we are going out there to do our best.”
