Lennox Bacela back Orlando Pirates in Final

The 32-year-old, now at University of Pretoria, played in the CAF Champions League Final two years ago when the Buccaneers lost to Al-Ahly, but he feels they can go one better this time.

“I think this time around they will [win it],” he says. “Circumstances of this Final will never be the same as last time.

“Leading up to the game, there were a lot of things that people outside the club didn't see going into the game, so I doubt this time around it will happen.

“Even if they do, the club will be prepared this time around and the players have experienced that before. They have the experience to go and win it.”

Bacela says he is still keep in touch with his former teammates and spoke to them before the semi-final against Al-Ahly to wish them well.

“I even spoke to Eric [Tinkler] before the game. I knew they what it takes to do it. The Al-Ahly team that we played in 2013 it is not the same with this one.

“I knew they had that bit of experience over them. So I knew they would do it and I just said to the guys it's up to them now; they must just finish what they started.”
