Happy Jele: Orlando Pirates determined to win Confederation Cup for South Africa

Pirates are the only South African club to have annexed the elite African Champions League, achieving the feat in 1995.

The Buccaneers, who also reached the 2013 Champions League Final, have the chance to extend their legacy on the continent when they battle Etoile du Sahel in the Confederation Cup Final.

Eric Tinkler's men will host the first leg at Orlando Stadium on November 21, with the event decider taking place in Tunisia the following weekend.

"Pirates have been fighting on higher levels for a while. We always try to build on our legacy as a big club in Africa," Jele is quoted as saying by Bucs on Umhlobo Wenene FM.

"We want this cup. We want it bad! We want this for South Africa and to build that legacy."

Jele feels both teams have the potential to surprise in the Final.

"The game will be a big challenge for us and ESS. Both sides don't know each other, apart from what we've seen versus other teams."

Jele, however, has confidence the Soweto giants have the personnel and desire to get the job done.

"Everyone is ready to fight for this team so it will be up to the coach to make the best selections. Everyone wants to play

"We also have plenty of leaders in the side, plenty of quality in all departments so the side is in good hands.

"I'm feeling good injury-wise. And I know that because it's the last game, I'm prepared to leave it all on the pitch.

"We have a long enough break between the Final to recover so we are going all out for our team, fans and country."

Jele urged the nation to get behind the Sea Robbers on home soil.

"Even my own family, they don't all support Pirates but next week they are with us. I urge all fans to do the same."
