Pirates were dealt a blow as they conceded an away-goal right at the death to surrender a healthy 1-0 lead at home to Etoile on Saturday evening.
However, Jele believes the result is not as bad as everyone thinks and says Bucs can draw inspiration from the team that drew 2-2 at home in the 1995 CAF Champions League final against ASEC Mimosa.
"The class of '95 almost experienced the same situation as us at the moment," said Jele after the match.
"They conceded two goals and then they went to ASEC Mimosa and scored one goal, so it's all about belief."
Eric Tinkler also alluded to the team that won the club's maiden continental crown, and says the current team can still emulate that second leg performance.
"It's exactly like Happy said. In '95 it was a 2-2 draw here at home and they went there and won the game.
"That's the type of belief we need to have, that we can emulate them, and that's what we are going to try and do."
