Gabuza thrilled with Bafana goal against Angola and relishing Confed Cup Final with Etoile du Sahel

The match will kick off at 20h00 at Orlando Stadium.

“This is a big game for us,” Gabuza told his club's website. “We are all ready for this game against Etoile du Sahel. There isn’t much we know about them but the fact that they have reached this stage of the competition means that we will have to be at our best if we want to win this competition.

“On a personal level, I am prepared to do whatever I can to help the team win on the day. If I score it will be great but the most important thing for me and the team is to ensure that we register a win against Etoile du Sahel.”

Gabuza has netted five goals in the continental competition, the same tally as strike partner Kermit Erasmus - and one less than Etoile's Baghdad Bounedjah, who tops the scoring charts.

Meanwhile, Gabuza was naturally thrilled to score in Bafana Bafana's 3-1 win over Angola in a 2018 World Cup qualifier in Benguela this past Friday. Gabuza was joined on the scoresheet by ex-Buccaneers Andile Jali and Tokelo Rantie.

“I am happy to have found the back of the net,” said Gabuza. “It is what makes strikers happy. The more we score the happier I am, especially when the goal contributes to the team’s success.

“We didn’t start too well and went behind very early in the match but we fought back and showed our commitment and dedication to turn the game around.”

Gabuza added of Tuesday's return duel at Moses Mabhida Stadium: “Even though we are well aware of the potential threat Angola can possess on their day, I am confident that we can repeat the job at home and qualify for the next round of the competition.”
