Cavin Johnson says Platinum Stars gave 150 percent in CAF Confederation Cup draw with MC Alger

Johnson fielded the likes of Sphamandla Mlilo, Sipho Senne, Katlego Khunou and Gift Links against the Algerians in Rustenburg.

"It was a 150 percent performance from the young boys," said Johnson, whose side trail Group B leaders CS Sfaxien by two points after they beat Mbabane Swallows 1-0 in their pool opener in Tunisia on Saturday.

"It says good things for South African football, it says they are able to up their game which they have been doing. They just needed a chance. The only chance we thought we will give them was a continental game. When you give them a chance in a continental game they don't know who they are playing against. So they play with a free heart and they run at players and that's what they have done. I am very proud of performance put up. For me it's all about future, the future for Platinum Stars looks good in all areas in the club."

Dikwena, who will host Kaizer Chiefs in their penultimate league fixture of the season on Wednesday, will tackle Mbabane Swallows in their next Confed Cup tie at Somhlolo Stadium on May 23.
