Augusto Palacios sings Tebogo Moloi's praises

Moloi, assistant to Eric Tinkler, was part of Pirates’ African Cup-winning class of 1995.

Prior to his initial appointment as assistant coach in 2011, Moloi served as assistant coach for two seasons in the 2004/05 and 2005/06.

Ever since then, he’s been assistant to Júlio César Leal, Palacios, Roger de Sa, Vladimir Vermezovic and most now Tinkler.

“I believe that one unsung hero of this Pirates team is Tebogo Moloi,” Palacios tells snl24.com/kickoff.

“His knowledge of African conditions and experience having started as a player, and being there alongside Roger de Sa [in the CAF Champions League in 2013] is highly important and he plays a crucial role in motivating players behind the scenes.

“Going into the Final, he’s got a crucial role to play in getting the players mentally ready.”

Pirates face Tunisian giants Etoile du Sahel in the two-legged Final in November.
