Amakhosi will go in search of the star but they come against defending champions Al Ahly who are managed by former Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane.
Lane, who was part of the Pirates squad that won the African Champions Cup in 1995, says he does not have any problem with the Buccaneers not being the only Soweto team with a star above the club's badge.
"You know when Sundowns won it a few years ago, you know it's good for South African soccer. It's a once-off game and I know they gonna beat Pitso's side. So ja it's good for South African football. I know Chiefs and Pirates have got this argument...but I think things are more relaxed nowadays.
"I know Chiefs have just defended very well the other day, but the good thing is a once off game. In a one -off final anyone can beat anyone. You score one goal in the game you tighten up and you win.
"We played first leg and second leg (1995 Final), home and away. So it was also difficult with the away goal rule and all these other nonsenses...thank goodness Jerry (Sikhosana) scored. So ja I don't have a problem with a South African team doing well in Africa and bring back another star in the country. I think Chiefs they have a chance to win."
