New date for Wydad Athletic Club vs Kaizer Chiefs CAF Champions League Group C fixture

Chiefs were set to face Wydad in Casablanca last Saturday but the Moroccan government refused to grant their visas over the travel ban placed on tourists coming from South Africa.

CAF, in conjunction with the 2018 Champions League winners, initially rescheduled the fixture for this Friday, 19 February, in Cairo, Egypt.

This, however, left Amakhosi with minimal time to finalise travel, visas and other logistics with two DStv Premiership fixtures also scheduled on Wednesday and Saturday.

The Glamour Boys thus wrote back to CAF to raise "a few impediments" while asking for a new date to be scheduled that would allow for ample time to prepare.

snl24.com/kickoff can exclusively reveal that the continental body has since advised that, after negotiations with all parties concerned, the Group C fixture will now take place on 28 February at a venue and time still to be confirmed by the Egyptian Football Association.
