Jackson Muleka: TP Mazembe reject shocking bid from RC Lens

The 20-year-old striker has attracted widespread interest since bursting onto the scene as a teenager with the Vodacom Ligue 1 champions, with Al Ahly reportedly rebuffed with a staggering bid in the region of R45-million.

While Zamalek were also touted as suitors for his services, TP President Moise Katumbi ruled out selling the Democratic Republic of Congo international to a direct rival for the CAF Champions League.

In Europe, Ligue 1 giants Marseille saw negotiations break down before Angers and Lens both enquired about his availability but the latter refused to launch an official bid after being put off by Mazembe's asking price.

However, the French club returned last week with an offer of R2-million for a season-long loan with an option to make the deal permanent for R5.8-million at the end of the season.

snl24.com/kickoff understands that Lens also included a 25% sell-on clause of profits for any potential sale in the future but the five-time African giants have rejected the bid which was described as 'shocking'.
