Sundowns were knocked out at the quarter-final stage of the competition just before the nationwide lockdown in March by the Red Devils, who have since roped in Pitso Mosimane as head coach.
But en route to the last-eight, the Brazilians were one of the standout teams in the competition with the record 16-1 aggregate win over Cote d'Or from Seychelles a particular highlight.
'Vila' directly contributed to six goals in the 11-1 second leg drubbing of the first-round tie with three goals and as many assists and added another in the group stage in the 2-1 win over Algerian Ligue 1 giants USM Alger.
As a result, the South Africa international notched four goals in his six starts in the competition, while Gaston Sirino's three strikes kept him just outside the top 10.
Four of the 10 players earned lucrative moves abroad since their standout displays, while Morocco striker Ayoub El Kaabi left for the riches of the Chinese Super League, finished a season and already returned to Wydad AC.
