Portia Modise urges SAFA to get Banyana Banyana strong opposition to prepare for the World Cup

Banyana booked themselves a first-ever ticket to the showpiece by reaching the final of the Africa Women's Cup of Nations in Ghana. The draw for the World Cup, which will be played from June 7 to July 7, 2019, will be held this weekend in France.

"I think it's going to be a disaster if they get us games against countries like Zambia and Botswana. From now Banyana need to be given attention, so that we go there and do well, rather than being exposed. We need proper preparing against proper international teams. The same teams that compete at the Olympics will be at the World Cup, so it won't be easy."

Banyana have played against some top class countries in recent times in friendly internationals, such as Sweden, France, Netherlands and Chile.

Depending who they get drawn against, these are countries SAFA could look to again for friendly matches.
