Banyana Banyana's next centurians not far off

Jane reached the milestone when Banyana took on Finland in their opening Cyprus Women’s Cup on Tuesday and she could be joined by two other players in a few months from now.

Leandra Smeda and Mammelo Makhabane, who are key players in coach Desiree Ellis’ team, are on 93 caps and could reach the feat by the end of the team’s maiden FIFA World Cup appearance. The World Cup will be played in France from June 7 to July 7.

Jermaine Seoposenwe is one that will also be looking to achieve the feat, but she is still some way from getting there. The striker, who was once seen as a replacement for retired Portia Modise, is on 71 caps for the national team. Age is still on her side, so she is likely to reach the feat.

Lebogang Ramalepe and Thembi Kgatlana, two players who still have a lot more to offer Banyana, have a good chance of getting there in future. Ramalepe has featured 58 times for the senior national team, while Kgatlana is on 49. She will celebrate 50 caps in the coming week.
