Jane made her debut in 2012 during the Cyprus Women’s Cup and has now followed in the footsteps of teammates Mpumi Nyandeni, Noko Matlou and captain Janine van Wyk, who have reached the milestone in their successful national team careers.
Jane reached the milestone in Banyana’s 2-2 draw in a Group A clash against Finland at the Cyprus Women’s Cup on Wednesday.
“Honestly I always had dreams of reaching 100 caps, ever since coming to the national team. Having the likes of Mpumi Nyandeni, Janine, Noko…you need to learn from them and watch what they are doing and take the positives out of it,” said Jane, who wore the captain’s armband in her 100th appearance.
“They know the ins and outs of the team, they’ve been here for a long time. It clearly shows that there is something they are doing for them to be in this season. I have been learning so much from them and they have been guiding me
When they reached 100 caps , it was a motivation to say ‘one day I want to be part of the 100 team’.
Jane will make it appearance number 101 when Banyana take on North Korea tonight (18h00).
