Maart, though, is confident of bouncing back from a reported knee injury and of appearing in future international squads.
The midfielder - who has been replaced by SuperSport United's Jesse Donn - will miss the final Group G World Cup qualifiers against Zimbabwe and Ghana.
"I picked up the injury before we played AmaZulu and Orlando Pirates which happened during training, but I still played the last game against Swallows," Maart disclosed after leaving the Bafana Bafana camp.
"But as I came to camp, they didn't want to put added pressure on it in case I get injured in the same place. It's going to cause problems within our side and the team.
"I'm very disappointed at the end of the day, but there's nothing you can do.
"Good luck to the team, and I know they will bring the result home at the end of the day."
Maart is now back at Sekhukhune United for treatment on his knee injury and is hopeful to bounce back with Bafana Bafana in the near future.
"It's something good for the decision that they made for me because, at the end of the day, I am still young, I am still fresh.
"When I bounce back, I will bounce back with a positive mindset," Maart added.
Bafana face Zimbabwe at FNB Stadium on Thursday before an away clash to Ghana on Sunday.
Kick-off is at 21:00.
