Head coach Hugo Broos believes the 1-1 draw against Cote d'Ivoire is enough reason to be confident that Bafana can at the Africa Cup of Nations.
After an underwhelming performance in a goalless draw against Eswatini, Broos was pleased to see his side go toe-to-toe against one of the continent's elite, as goals from Themba Zwane and Sébastien Haller ensured a 1-1 draw in West Africa on Tuesday night.

"That's maybe a step that this team still has to make, that if you play against a weaker team that you need the same level of concentration the same focus, the same mentality as when you play against Ivory Coast," Broos told SAFA media after the match.
"I know it's easier to be focus when you play against Ivory Coast than when you play against Eswatini.
"When you saw the performance against Morocco, than it's unbelievable that you have performance like against Eswatini.

Having already qualified for next year's Afcon to be played in West Africa, Broos is now more confident of Bafana's chances.
"So, it's in the team (the quality), I'm sure it's in the team but it has come out," Broos added.
"It's a question of being focused, whoever is the opponent, you need to always have the same mentality and then I think we can have a mice Afcon.
"Today (Tuesday) I wanted to see the team against a good opponent, to see how they would play and now I more satisfied, I believe more than we can play two games in November and then have a good Afcon.
"We have the quality, just sometimes maybe we have to believe a bit more in ourselves."
Next for Bafana is a 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifier match against Benin on November.
