Vilakazi: Dwelling on last season's form will hurt Broos

Former Bafana Bafana midfielder Benedict "Tso" Vilakazi says Bafana Bafana mentor Hugo Broos might be sabotaging his good work by assessing players at this time of the year.

Broos used two different sets of players in the two friendly matches the national team played recently against Namibia and the DR Congo.

Vilakazi says with just three months remaining before the team leaves for the Africa Cup Of Nations tournament in Ivory Coast, the Belgian should be using the little time he's left with to find his starting line-up instead.

"The good thing is they managed to create chances and score," Vilakazi tells KickOff.

"This is not at club level where we might say one goal is not enough.

"Here one goal is enough. And looking at the country we were playing against, the DR Congo, they are very strong.

"Bafana they have got only two games left to use as preparations for the AFCON. So there is no time to waste.

"My worry is the consistency in the Bafana Bafana line-up because we don't have time.

"In the national team it's not like at club level where you can play 11 players today and play another 11 tomorrow.

"We need consistency at Bafana Bafana. At the moment we are not sure if Broos knows his starting line-up or his first XI.

"My worry is seeing him having A Team and B Team. There is no time to dish out caps now because we need to prepare for AFCON.

"With only two friendly games remaining, we should not be giving out chances to new faces.

"We should be focusing on building a starting line-up for AFCON. Let's not act as if we still have time because we don't."
