SAFA looking for new opponents for Bafana Bafana after Zambia cancel friendly

The South African Football Association is "frantically" looking for an opponent to play Bafana Bafana after their international friendly with Zambia was cancelled.

Bafana were due to play against Zambia this Saturday away from home, but the Zambian FA president confirmed on Marawa Sport Worldwide that the game has been cancelled due to the xenophonic attacks in South Africa this week.

SAFA spokesperson Dominic Chimhavi has confirmed to kickoff that the game has been called off and they are now looking for an opponent to replace Zambia.

"Yes [the game has been cancelled]. We are frantically to get a replacement," Chimhavi told snl24.com/kickoff.

"Hopefully we will have something by tomorrow."

Bafana, who have new coach Molefi Ntseki at the helm, have been in camp since Sunday and have been training at Steyn City. News that the friendly has been cancelled is not good for Ntseki, who has tough Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers coming in November against Ghana and Sudan.
