Former Bafana Bafana head coach Augusto Palacios says Hugo Broos and his team will need all the support to do well in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations.
Bafana is currently in camp preparing for friendly matches against Namibia and the Democratic Republic Of Congo.

"The coach has the responsibility of the national team," Palacios tells KickOff.
"The coach has a right to select whoever he wants because he attends the games, he watches the games, and he's got responsibility.
"Players are selected according to their liking, we need to support the national team coach as we normally do. He is not involved in all the politics, he is the coach. Look at Brazil, they are no longer calling three players from England.
"Why is that happening? It is the decision of the coach. At the end of the day if he fails he will be the only one responsible," Palacios elaborates.

"He has the technical team that helps him identify players, if those players are coming from Chiefs, Sundowns or Pirates... it does not matter.
"I won't say the coach is right or wrong, but all I'm saying is, a coach is the only one responsible for the selection of players, whether it's at the club level or national team. And anyone who is against this must sit down with the coach and solve the problem that's all.
"If any club have a problem with the head coach of the national team, he must communicate with him or SAFA. Remember this coach was able to qualify us for Afcon. Now he will be playing in the World Cup qualifications, still, he needs our support.
"As the public, we can't fire him or tell him to go, it's wrong. Let him do his job as he continues to build the squad."
