Palacios: Bafana must learn from Springboks

Former Bafana Bafana head coach Augusto Palacios says the senior men's national team can learn from the success of their rugby counterparts, the Springboks.

Bafana put in a confident performance with a 1-1 draw away to Ivory Coast in an international friendly at the Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny, on Tuesday.

"The players need to perform 100%, a player needs to play like he does at his club," Palacios tells KickOff.

"If a coach selects me for the national team, I must be 1000% happy.

"It's an honour to be in the national team.

"The player is the one who should give good performance in the field, not the coach.

"Bafana must look at the Springboks and learn what it means to represent your country.

"We need to fight and be patriotic until the end.

"I think we are ready for the AFCON. We've got the players, this is the biggest league in Africa, the PSL.

"We've got everything. We just need the performance."
