SA football great Mlungisi Ngubane believes that SAFA should be transparent when dealing with things that concern the country.
Ngubane says the SAFA hierarchy should treat the national team as a private organization as it belongs to the people of South Africa not to individuals.
SAFA president Danny Jordaan says he was misunderstood when talking about Bafana Bafana's $7 million (131 million) AFCON bonus deal.
Jordaan says the contract between SAFA and the players will remain a secret.
"He realised he was making promises he can't keep," Ngubane tells KickOff.
"You can't trust whatever these guys are saying. Only the Bafana Bafana players can tell us what is the agreement.
"The fact that they are keeping it a secret tells you something is wrong.

"There should be no secrets, they need to be transparent in everything they do. At the moment SAFA is not transparent.
"As South Africa we should know exactly how much each player is going to get paid.
"This should be discussed openly. We must be informed from the beginning how much is expected by the players.
"I understand the players' silence on this matter because whoever is going to leak the details will be crucified.
"The players' union they supposed to know how much money the players will be getting.

"They must do it on behalf of the players.
"They must be vocal like they did when Banyana Banyana were about to leave for the World Cup.
"The union shouldn't wait until there is a problem before addressing issues. But at the moment there is a huge question mark hanging over the whole thing."
