Mohlala: Bafana shouldn't be celebrating draws

Former South Africa International Lovers Mohla says a team like Bafana Bafana should not be celebrated for earning a draw against Ivory Coast.

The Hugo Broos-led national team played to a one-all draw against the Elephants in an international friendly that was played in Abidjan yesterday.

Tuesday's result sees Broos' Bafana team undefeated in 11 matches.

"We must not be fooled by yesterday's performance and think we achieved a good result," Mohlala tells KickOff.

"Football is about what is at stake. Hugo Broos, I don't even think he should be coaching Bafana Bafana.

"He is just there to make money; remember he still does have his own country (Belgium).

"What is our philosophy? What is our strategy? What is our strength?

"You cannot talk about an 11-game unbeaten record when you were playing against Eswatini.

"Go play Egypt, go play Senegal, we can't test our strength against countries like Eswatini.

"You can't play against Mozambique, Namibia, Botswana, Lesotho and Eswatini and come back and tell us about records.

"Records are made against bigger teams.

"SAFA have got a lot on their plate. The politics are killing South African football.

"How come a big organisation like SAFA struggle to get sponsors, when during the Apartheid era they had plenty?"
