Bafana Bafana drew 0-0 with Lesotho in a friendly ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations on Wednesday afternoon.
Hugo Broos went with a strong line-up for the side's only warm-up game, although Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeper Ronwen Williams was named on the bench as Veli Mothwa was given a start.
Orlando Pirates striker Evidence Makgopa got the role of striker for the day and he was joined in the attack by Thapelo Maseko and Mihali Mayambela, with Percy Tau deployed in the number ten role.
Royal AM's Motebang Sera was named in the attack for Lesotho, whose last win over the South Africans came via a 3-0 victory in the 2019 African Nations Championship (CHAN).
Despite some of the high-scoring matches between the two nations in the past, neither side were able to fashion any serious chances in the opening 45 minutes other than an effort from Evidence Makgopa, which sailed over.
Broos was able to give a run out to more players in the second half after throwing on the likes of goalkeeper Ricardo Goss, Nyiko Mobbie, Katlego Mashego, Thabang Monare, Thapelo Morena and Zakehle Lepasa.
There would be no change of scorline in the second half, as neither nation were able to find the back of the net, with Bafana heading to the tournament on the back of a stalemate.
The South African head coach will also be sweating on the availability of defender Mothobi Mvala, who picked up a groin injury and is awaiting the results from his scan.
Bafana will begin their group stage campaign against Mali at the Stade Amadou Gon Coulibaly in Korhogo on Tuesday, 16 January.
