Former Bafana Bafana captain Neil Tovey has issued advice to the current national team players on how to win the Africa Cup of Nations.
Tovey, who also captained Kaizer Chiefs, remains the only South African to have lifted the AFCON trophy wearing an armband.
South Africa will have to deal with Tunisia, Mali, and neighboring Namibia in Group E to make the knockout stages.
Tovey advises the Hugo Broos-coached squad to take each game seriously.
"At this stage, we shouldn't even think of lifting the trophy," Tovey tells KickOff.

"Let's let them start thinking about getting out of their group, that's where they must focus.
"They must take one game at a time, to win the AFCON you got to have everybody in sync, you got to have the whole team in sync, not just the players on the field.
"The training session got to have a good tempo, if one player is not available, another player should be able to come and step on their shoes, and there won't be a difference in quality.
"Well I don't know if this team got that you know, capabilities of someone coming in from the bench and fitting in like a glove I don't know.
"It takes planning, it takes taking care of the media situation, don't look too far ahead.
