Bafana Bafana opponents in quandary

Bafana Bafana's opponents for their 2022 World Cup qualifying Group G opener are potentially facing travel restrictions based on the UK's Covid-19 protocols.

Zimbabwe have delayed announcing their final squad for next month's qualifiers to face South Africa and Ethiopia.

Zimbabwe's England based contingent, led by Marvelous Nakamba of Aston Villa, alongside Tendai Darikwa of Wigan Athletic, Jordan Zemura of Bournemouth, Brendan Galloway of Plymouth Argyle, Sunderland's Ethan Kachosa, Macauley Bonne of Ipswich Town and Admiral Muskwe of Luton Town.

While David Moyo features for Hamilton Academical in Scotland.

The strict regulations in the United Kingdom call for those travelling from red zone countries - which both Zimbabwe and South Africa are categorised as - to quarantine for 10 days.

Clubs in the UK have already taken a stand to not release their players fearing the consequences of being without their services for 10 days after their return from international duty.

Zimbabwe, just like other football federations across the world has sought guidance from FIFA on this complicated matter.

The Warriors are expected to be led by Olympic Lyon striker Tino Kadewere and Knowledge Musona who now plays in the Middle East.

Kaizer Chiefs forward Khama Billiat headlines the PSL contingent which has grown thinner in recent times in the Warriors squad with Kuda Mahachi (SuperSport United), Blessing Sarupinda (Sekhukhune United), Divine Lunga (Mamelodi Sundowns) and Washington Arubi (Marumo Gallants) the only other players expected to be in the squad.

Former PSL players Teenage Hadebe, Marshall Munetsi and Prince Dube will also be included.
