Bafana are set to host Benin at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday before facing Rwanda away from home on Tuesday.
"This is the very first time I've been with the senior national team. It's good to be here and want to continue working hard and try to do my best and help the team where I can," Appolis told the SAFA media.
"It's a good experience because there are a lot of experienced people who have been in the game for many years and my job here is to learn a lot from them.
"But the camp has been going well, the boys have been pushing hard at training to see the game for Saturday and get the results we want as a win."
Broos has since called up striker Evidence Makgopa to replace Lebo Mothiba due to injury.
Elias Makwana and Thapelo Xoki have also replaced injured duo Thapelo Maseko and Grant Kekana.
