Argentina captain Lionel Messi has hit out at the 'corruption' at the Copa America after he refused to join his teammates at the medal ceremony.
La Albiceleste secured the bronze medal at the 2019 edition after defeating Chile 2-1 in the third/fourth play-off on Saturday evening.
Messi, however, didn't complete the match as he was sent off in the first half after an altercation with Chile's Gary Medel, who also received his marching orders.

The Barcelona star vented his anger after much and did not show up for the medal ceremony with the rest of his teammates.
"I didn't go to the podium because we shouldn't be part of the corruption and lack of respect," Messi said, as per Metro. "We were meant for more but they didn't let us be in the final.
"The corruption and the refs didn't allow the people to enjoy and football is ruined. The corruption and the referees didn't allow us to be in the final. You have to say the truth."
