Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos hits out at Ethiopia gamesmaneship following traveling detour

Broos' side will be aiming to cement their lead at the top of Group G in the first-leg of a qualifying double-header at the Bahir Dar Stadium on Saturday.

The Belgian shared his frustration at the prolonged journey to Ethiopia with an hour-long round-trip that involved a detour to the capital city of Addis Ababa.

The 69-year-old hit out at their travel disruptions which he pointed to being perhaps underhanded tactics by the hosts.

"I think we deserve better than this," a disgruntled Broos said.

"Secondly, we're playing in a city that doesn't have an airport that can control visa applications and passports.

"So we had to travel first to Addis Ababa and then here, which maybe is also part of the Ethiopian's tactics.

"But okay, it is what it is and I think we are ready for the game, and we'd like to win the game. But we know that we are playing against a very good team.

"They've qualified for this year's Afcon which must mean something, so we know that they are good so we will have to play a very good game tomorrow."

Bafana Bafana lead Group G with four points from their opening two rounds of fixtures, a point ahead of Ghana (3) in second position. With Ethiopia (3) tied in second position with Zimbabwe (1) at the foot of the standings.

Kick-off is at 15:00.
