Al Ahly's Pitso Mosimane reacts to Cairo Derby draw vs Zamalek ahead of Sundowns clash

Zamalek came from a goal down with Tunisia international star Ferjanni Sassi's 80th-minute strike cancelling Salah Mohsen's 73rd-minute opener in yet another pulsating Egyptian Premier League clash.

The result means Mosimane and his Red Devils are unbeaten in their last three games against the White Knights, who are four points ahead of the reigning champions - albeit having played two games more than their rivals.

"Ya, difficult match obviously, we played against incredibly good opponents which are not easy, you could see tonight that Zamalek was playing for their pride and obviously they did not want to lose three times in a row to us," Mosimane said.

"They gave a good fight tonight and the last three games we played them, we scored first and they always come back, so it shows how credible they are, a very good team.

"It's fair that we shared the points, if we look at it we're not happy that we lost two points at home tonight but if you are optimistic and you focus on football and not get too emotional, you can say we got four out of six points from them and the Champions League. It can be better but you can't have everything you want."

With just two clean sheets in their last 11 games across all competitions, Mosimane admits it's concerning but stopped short of the notion that it's an issue as they have managed to score in each of the last 17 outings.

"The goal in CAF Champions League, if you concede, it's not a good sign, we like to keep it zero but I'd like to focus on my team so that every game they score, so you can look at it from one side or the other," he explained.

"I like the goals, yes you right we must not concede, but will you be happy with me if I draw three games 0-0. Then we could say we didn't concede that last three games, you look at it the way you want. But you right, at home in the Champions League you should not concede a goal."

The Club of the Century will now prepare to host Mamelodi Sundowns in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinal at Al-Salam Stadium on Saturday evening.
