AmaZulu defender Ramahlwe Mphahlele has provided an update on his condition following the freak injury he sustained in a collision with Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Richard Ofori earlier last month.
Mphahlele was the unfortunate casualty of a rash clearance attempt by Pirates goalkeeper Richard Ofori the MTN8 final after being knocked unconscious in a collision with the Ghana international who was looking to punch a ball away from his goal from a corner.
Ofori charged off his line but missed the ball as it was cleared by teammate Miguel Timm and instead went careening through Mphahlele, who had to be stretchered off and replaced with just over half an hour played.
The 32-year-old has since returned to training with Usuthu, who regathered after a mid-season break this week, and confirmed that he has recovered from the knock he suffered in the final against the Buccaneers.

"I'm happy to be back with the boys training, you know, obviously after what happened after the MTN8 final with the freak injury," Mphahlele told the club's website. "I am okay now. I am just looking forward to the so-called mini pre-season, so we can prepare for our next game against Sekhukhune."
AmaZulu play Sekhukhune United on 31 December, although talks are taking place across the league for fixtures to be played on 30 December instead, in what will be the club's first match since the league was interrupted by the commencement of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The Kwa-Zulu Natal-based outfit currently occupy seventh position in the DStv Premiership standings after claiming 17 points from their opening 13 league matches of the campaign.
