The move may serve as a life-line for Ngobeni, who has has made just two appearances for Sundowns this season and is in need of game-time.

Speaking to the club's media department on the move, Ngobeni set his sights on a top-four finish.

"I am very happy to join AmaZulu. I am looking forward to working hard, to please the fans and the president of the club. I am happy that I'll be meeting up with the right people so that we can help the team to rise," the defender said.

"The team has a lot of history, and we need to bring joy to the fans so that they can be happy about the club this season by finishing up in the top 4."

CLUB STATEMENT:

In an exciting move that marks Usuthu's first activity in the January FIFA Transfer window, the club proudly announces the signing of Mamelodi Sundowns defender Sifiso Ngobeni on a six-month loan deal.

The 26-year-old, hailing from Mamelodi, is set to enhance a competitive set up at left-back position with his exciting energy and dedication to the KZN-based club alongside AFCON bound Riaan Hanamub in Coach Pablo Franco's team.

Meanwhile, Usuthu also confirmed the surprise exit of left-back Sibusiso Mabiliso who leaves after just over a year since joining AmaZulu from Kaizer Chiefs.

Mabiliso has made just two appearances this season, two less than the four appearances he made last season, in what has been an underwhelming stay in KwaZulu-Natal.

"We are grateful for the incredible journey on and off the field with Sbu Mabiliso," a club statement read.

"After thoughtful discussions and mutual consent, we've decided to part ways. Thank you for the unforgettable moments and we wish you all the success in your next chapter!

"I would like to thank the AmaZulu FC President, the Management, my teammates, the coaching staff and the supporters for welcoming me back with open arms at Usuthu. I am very grateful for everything and the experience. Wishing the team all the best for the remainder of the season", added the defender.
