The 10 most expensive transfers so far in this window

With Arsenal's big-money signing of Declan Rice having finally been completed on the weekend, here are the 10 most expensive transfers of the window so far!

It will come as little surprise to many that the list is dominated by Premier League clubs, with eight of the costliest signings thus far having been made by English teams.

Arsenal have two inclusions in the top 10, Declan Rice and Kai Havertz, who joined the club from West Ham United and Chelsea, respectively.

The England international became the club's most expensive acquisition of all time after the Gunners agreed to pay £100 million (R2.3 billion), plus £5 million (R118 million) in add-ons, to secure his signature, while the Germany forward set the side back by £65 million (R1.5 billion) in order to lure him from the west to the north of London, per Football365.

The Blues have spent handsomely themselves, signing Christopher Nkunku for a sizeable £52 million (R1.2 billion) from RB Leipzig, with the France international agreeing to a six-year deal at Stamford Bridge. While the 25-year-old's time with the club is just beginning, Chelsea also received a profitable fee for Mason Mount after Manchester United splashed £55 million (R1.5 billion), plus £5 million in add-ons, for the attacking midfielder earlier this month.

Liverpool, Newcastle United, and Wolverhampton Wanderers are other English teams who have spent big, with the Reds paying £60 million (R1.4 billion) for Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig, while the Magpies tied Italian midfielder Sandro Tonali to a five-year deal from AC Milan for a fee of £52 million (R1.2 billion) plus £8 million (R189 million) in add-ons.

French giants Paris Saint-Germain, meanwhile, triggered the £51.2 million (R1.2 billion) release clause in midfielder Manuel Ugarte's contract at Sporting CP, with the Uruguay international being the most expensive addition the French club has made so far in this window, having also signed the likes of Lucas Hernandez, Lee Kang-in, Marco Asensio and Milan Skriniar, among others, over the past few weeks.
