In a shocking turn of events, a referee has reportedly been arrested for stabbing a player with a knife during a recent youth match.
According to the Daily Mail h/t Naija Times, a footballer named only as Kevin A by local media sustained a punctured lung after he was stabbed by amateur referee Remigio Armoa, with the incident said to have occurred during a fight that broke out in a recent game in the province of Misiones in Argentina.

It is reported that a number of players surrounded the referee after he made a decision they disagreed with, but the 62-year-old was carrying a knife on him and used it to attack one of the individuals.
Video footage showed the players charging at the match official in the build-up to the horrific incident, and his reaction was a near-fatal assault to Kevin A's chest with the weapon.
The victim could be seen on video caught by spectators falling to the ground before being immediately being picked up by some of his teammates and rushed off the turf for medical assistance.
Fortunately for Kevin A, he survived the attack, and was later pictured recovering in a hospital bed while scrolling through his phone.

Armoa left the scene after the stabbing but was later apprehended by local police, with the knife also being recovered.
The player's uncle, who has not been named, told local media: "Kevin is miraculously alive. For the family, it is a very delicate moment because he is the Messi of the family.
"He is a boy well gifted for football, thank God he had the opportunity to be in a club like Chacarita."
