England 2-0 Malta
England cemented top spot in Group C with a 2-0 victory over Malta at the Wembley Stadium on Friday evening.
In-form striker Harry Kane led the line for the host, with Marcus Rashford and Phil Foden joining him in a front-three whilst Harry Maguire partnered Marc Guehi in the centre of defence.
It took a stroke of good fortune from Enrico Pepe who tucked the ball into his own net after eight minutes and handed the Three Lions the lead.
Gareth Southgate's men managed to hold the advantage at the break and grabbed a second to secure the points through influential skipper Harry Kane.
Italy 5-2 Macedonia
Italy went within the brink of qualification to the UEFA Euro 2024 finals with a comprehensive 5-2 victory over North Macedonia on Friday.
The Azzurri didn't make a strong start but began to settle and took the lead when Matteo Darmian headed in at the far post.
Italy got a second to make it two from the penalty spot following a foul in the area, but Jorginho took a double step and saw Stole Dimitrievski pull off a save.
The missed effort from 12-yards didn't prove a great deal as Federico Chiesa picked up a back-heeled pass from Nicolo Barella and volleyed in from the edge of the box.
Chiesa remained on the fore-front and grabbed a brace minute before halftime when he curled into the top corner- giving Dimitrievski no chance.
Macedonia showed a bit of fight in the second half and pulled one back through a double from J. Atanasov to set up a nervy final quarter.
However, the Azzurri remained resolute and got a fifth through Giancomo Raspadori before Stephane El Sharaawy made it five deep in added time.
Denmark 2-1 Slovenia
Denmark became the latest nation to qualify for the continental showpiece next June with a 2-1 victory over Slovenia in Group H.
It was a strong start on either side with Joakim Maehle giving the Danes the lead only for the visitors to hit back on the half-hour mark as Erik Janza angled in the equaliser.
The Danes regained the front-foot over five minutes in the second half as Thomas Delaney finished off an assist from Jannik Vestergaard and evidently helped his side to win and qualification to the finals.
Poland 1-1 Czech Republic
Poland have failed to book a spot in the Euros next year after playing to a 1-1 draw against the Czech Republic in a Group E qualifier.
As always, star striker Robert Lewandowski set out in attack for the Poles with Wojciech Szczesny in goal and Jan Bednarek amongst the other starters too.
It took Poland a while to get going before Jakub Piotrowski got them ahead just inside the final quarter of the first half with a smart strike.
The Czechs recovered following the set-back and clinched a point from the cusp of defeat when Tomas Soucek charged before finding the back of the net.
Finland 4-0 Northern Ireland
Finland hammered the Northern Ireland 4-0 in a penultimate mid-table qualifying encounter in Group H in Helsinki.
The home team experienced a bright start late in the first half, with Joel Pohjanpalo firing in from the penalty spot after an indiscretion inside the six-yard area.
Finland added a second soon after halftime through Daniel Hakans before Teemu Pukki and Robin Lod completed the comprehensive day's work in front of goal.
