According to reports, Bradley Carnell's side, Philadelphia Union, are now linked with a FIFA World Cup winner.
The 2025 Major League Soccer season got underway this past weekend, with the South African tactician getting off to a winning start at his new club as they claimed a 4-2 victory over Orlando City this past Sunday.

Since Carnell took over at the beginning of 2025, Union have made four signings so far, while the transfer window remains open until Wednesday, 23 April.
These new additions include Uruguayan striker Bruno Damiani, American winger Indiana Vassilev, Serbian midfielder Jovan Lukic, and Argentina U-23 international Ian Glavinovich.
But with the transfer window still open, Union continue to be linked with more players, including a high-profile star from Europe.
According to the German newspaper Sport Bild, 2014 World Cup winner with Germany Thomas Müller could be set for a move to the MLS, with Union mooted as a potential destination.
The Bayern Munich talisman will be out of contract in June 2025, and the forward is now exploring a number of options, including a contract extension in Bavaria, a switch to the MLS, or retirement.
It is noted that should Müller stay at Bayern, he would be expected to take a massive pay cut from his reported annual salary of €17 million (R328 million).
It is further reported that the now 35-year-old would also have to accept a backup role under his current manager, Vincent Kompany.
Contract talks between Müller and the Bayern bosses are expected to resume in March after the two parties reportedly had initial discussions back in November 2024.
