Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Mokete Tsotetsi has warned the current generation of players against relying too much on agents.
In this week's Throwback Thursday the former Chiefs player recalls how an agent once denied him of the opportunity to seal a move abroad.

"The only thing I can say I regret honestly is having an agent," Tsotetsi tells snl24.com/kickoff.
"That's the only regret I have. Not all of them, as I have seen some who put the players first. But then most agents only think about themselves instead of the player.
"If a team wants you, certain agents will demand a lot of money while at the same time, taking from you.
"Then when you are without a team some agents will not even offer funds for you to be able to cover certain things.
"Some of them, fail to help you invest or save for a future. Very, very few agents help players invest in property or something like that. Most are in it for money."
Tsotetsi also detailed his personal discord with agents and how it negatively impacted his career.
"Somewhere, somehow yes I feel like they robbed me," Tsotetsi added.
"Besides the money, maybe I would have done things differently if I represented myself. When at Vasco Da Gama I was supposed to move to Belgium.
"But it was an agent who came to me with the move, but the agent I had been with became jealous. We spoke about it. My current agent closed doors for me because he was not included in the move.
"He never came straight to me. I just heard the other agent told me that my current agent was giving him a hard time.

"That's how it ended. Even today such things still happen to the current generation of players. Even for a local move, an agent will demand a lot of money. If you are unemployed as a player the agent will not even go around trying to find the player a team.
"But once it's reported in the media that a team wants so and so, the agent then wants it to appear as if he's the one who's been doing the job. Some will demand 15% others 20%, which is a lot of money.
"What I can advise current players is, their career is theirs, and they must take control of their careers.
"Don't depend on agents, they must just invest so that after football they have something to fall back on."
