There has been speculation that Jean Marc Ithier was set to step down as team’s coach and be succeeded by Khan who had spell with The People's Team few seasons ago.
Khan has, however, admitted that he has been in contact with Santos chairman Goolam Allie on other soccer related matters, but adds that Allie never expressed any interest in giving him the coaching position.
“That’s only media talk. I have always had contact with Goolam Allie but we have never talked about the possibility of me taking over as coach at Santos.”
“At the moment I am fully committed to my youth development programme in Gauteng, but I don’t rule out the possibility of returning to top flight football soon,” he adds.
Meanwhile, veteran Santos midfielder Sebastien Bax believes that the team will definitely be out of the blocks soon.
The Capetonians are the only team in the PSL that have yet to win a match. They have drawn four of their first five matches.
“All we need is just one win and then we will be on the route to playing for full points. I believe that the reason why we cannot play for victories is because there is a lack of confidence.
“And to eliminate that syndrome, all we need is luck to get that first win as soon as possible otherwise we could be playing for too many draws like we have done in the past couple of seasons.
“We are playing well but we also appear to be unlucky as we could have won some of the drawn games.
“We also have a team with youngsters who need support in trying times like these. The fact that we are playing without some of our experienced guys like Makonese [Zvenyika] has also affected us,” says the Mauritian international.
