Gorowa assumed head coach duties at the Dube Birds after Gavin Hunt left at the start of the season for Supersport United.
But Gorowa was hauled before to the PSL’s Disciplinary Committee twice for incidents involving misconduct; one was for exchanging blows with Hunt and the other for manhandling a referee during a heated situation.
Speaking after leading Swallows to a 2-0 win over AmaZulu, Gorowa described the 2008/09 season as an eye opener.
“We lacked consistency which is key to going forward. After starting brightly, we suffered a slump due to many factors. But I believe going into next season, one will have a better idea of what to work on for the challenges that lie ahead for us.”
The Zimbabwean said he had identified players to fill the gaps left by departed players and those who are likely to fly out of The Birds’ Nest at the end of the season.
He also explained James Chamanga’s transfer.
“He is 28-years-old and there was great interest from that Chinese club. We had to let him go because that could be his once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. We are unhappy that he left unfinished business, but I believe we will find a good replacement.”
