After former Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro was relieved of his duties at Al Ahly, KickOff discovers where the Spanish coach ranks among the shortest tenures at the Egyptian giants.
Riveiro and his staff left their posts at the instructions from the Club of the Century on Sunday, after defeat to Pyramids a day before left Al Ahly languishing 13th in the Egyptian Premier League table after four matches.

The former Pirates tactician was only in charge for three months, exactly 94 days at the Red Devils, a record which has made him one of the quickest coaches to be relieved of his duties at Al Ahly.
'The Spanish Guitar' is only second to former coach Ricardo Soares, in so far as the shortest stints at the Cairo giants, as Soares was relieved of his duties after just two months, lasting only 61 days, in August 2022, after he had replaced former coach Pitso Mosimane.
The Portuguese mentor could not maintain the standards under Mosimane, as under his brief tenure, Al Ahly finished outside of the top two in the league for the first time since the 1991/92 season. Peseiro was eventually replaced by Marcel Koller, who stayed for three campaigns.
Other coaches who have had short spells at the Egyptian giants includes Jose Peseiro, who was relieved of his duties within four months of his appointment between October 2015 and January 2016. The Portuguese coach was criticised for his tactics.
Patrice Carteron also lasted only five months between June and November 2018 after two losses in two legs against Esperance de Tunis in the CAF Champions League final was deemed unacceptable.

Dutch tactician Martin Jol also vacated the hot seat in Cairo within six months of being in charge between February and August 2016, after he could not qualify Al Ahly to the CAF Champions League semi-finals final.
Jol quit his job over safety concerns after the Red Devils supporters were rioting and pushing the club to show the former Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham manager the exit door.
