The two nations will square off against each other at Toyota Stadium on Tuesday at 18h00, in what will be their respective second matches of the September international break.
Nigeria secured a narrow 1-0 win over Rwanda in Uyo on Saturday, while South Africa cruised to a commanding 3-0 victory over Lesotho in Bloemfontein the day before.
Hugo Broos' side currently tops the FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign Group C standings with 16 points, while Nigeria have accumulated 10 points after seven matches.
Despite the gap, Chelle is confident his team can overcome the group leaders, starting by beating them on Tuesday, drawing belief from their crucial win against Rwanda.
"We are happy because we won 1-0, and we can now face South Africa with more confidence. I am happy, because we still have a chance," Chelle said, per Sports247.
