Kaizer Chiefs caretaker coach Cavin Johnson has pointed out that there remains light at the tunnel for the club after nine years without silverware.
Another fresh wound to Chiefs’ agonising trophy drought had salt added when they were elbowed out of the Nedbank Cup on Sunday ending their trophy hopes for this season.

This means Amakhosi will complete the 13 league games remaining playing for pride with Mamelodi Sundowns already champions in waiting for their seventh consecutive league title.
Yet Johnson is still brave to stand in front.
"We have a lot of other things intact as far as this generation of players are concerned," says Johnson.

"The biggest thing that each generation did at Kaizer Chiefs before nine years was that there was something they did differently as a generation.
"The generation has changed over the years, and we must make sure that we make this generation realises how good they are and what it means to wear a Kaizer Chiefs jersey.
"We are busy with that and making sure that they appreciate wearing the Chiefs jersey and making sure that we will rise. It could be sooner than we think,” he declares, adding that they remain positive about the league campaign.
"The positive is that we haven’t lost in the last five games in the league and collected 11 points from 15. That gives a little bit of hope and the ability to shift from one competition to the next competition.
"That is where we are getting our strength.
"We have to win as many games as we can and take each game as a cup final," he adds.

Chiefs have 13 league games to play and are part of that pack chasing second place, which comes with a ticket to the CAF Champions League next season.
Third place secures CAF Confederation football but that will come with picking up points against Moroka Swallows, Golden Arrows, Orlando Pirates, Cape Town City, Stellenbosch, Chippa United, Richards Bay, SuperSport United, Mamelodi Sundowns, AmaZulu, Polokwane City, Cape Town Spurs, and TS Galaxy.
