Zothwane starts role at new club after shock Magesi exit

Former Magesi assistant coach Papi Zothwane has begun his duties at another Betway Premiership team following his exit from Magesi FC.

The former Golden Arrows and Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder made an abrupt departure from Magesi last week.

He had been serving as assistant coach to new head coach at the topflight rookies, Owen Da Gama - who had taken over the reins from Clinton Larsen.

Information now reaching KickOff.com is that Zothwane has started his duties at Richards Bay FC, where he is set to take up a coaching role.

He is expected to take up either a head coach or assistant coach role at the coastal side.

The Natal Rich Boyz have had a disastrous start to 2024/25, stuck at the tail end of the Betway Premiership standings with just two wins to show from 14 matches.

They parted ways with head coach Brandon Truter in November last year.

Sboniso Gumede and Ronnie Gabriel have since been serving as interim coaches, though it is not yet known what the arrival of Zothwane means for the duo.
