After a Kaizer Chiefs game attracted ugly scenes of spectator misbehaviour for the second time this season, KickOff looks at the costs the club has incurred in a series, at least from last year.
Chiefs have a spectator misbehaviour charge hanging over their head after a number of fans invaded the pitch and some threatened to assault referee Luxolo Badi, in the 4-0 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns in the Carling Knockout quarter-finals on Saturday.

The series of spectator misbehaviour encounters has continued from the beginning of last season, as certain sections of the Khosi Nation became notorious for bad behaviour under then coach Molefi Ntseki.
The club's inability to stabilize the situation with results has hit them hard in the pocket, as since August last year, their frequent visit to the PSL DC offices has incurred just under R2 million.
After a poor start under Ntseki, Chiefs were fined R100, 000, with R30 000 suspended for a period of 12 months, after supporters threw objects at Mbombela Stadium following their defeat against TS Galaxy.
The fanbase was still not pleased with Ntseki at the helm a month later, as they pelted objects aimed at the technical team at Peter Mokaba Stadium on 20 September after a loss against SuperSport United.
Three days later, they were angered by referee Badi, who denied the side a clear penalty in a 2-1 loss to Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN8 semi-final second leg and also threw missiles to the pitch at Lucas Moripe Stadium.
As a result of the two incidents, which happened in the same week, the PSL DC charged the Soweto giants concomitantly for the two offences, as they were fined R200, 000, with R50 000 suspended.
The club had to also cough out an extra R30 000, which was suspended from the charge in August.
That was not enough though, as they were also handed a suspended stadium ban.
In what proved to be Ntseki's last game, Amakhosi fans had enough after a 1-0 defeat to AmaZulu FC in October 2023 in the Carling Knockout first round, with the coach needing to be escorted by heavy police presence, after supporters violently threw objects at him and his staff at FNB Stadium.
As a result, the R50 000 that was suspended the previous month became effective as well as a stadium ban, as the Glamour Boys made their fourth (two sittings were combined into one) appearance at the PSL DC offices.
For their supporters' misbehaviour after the loss to Usuthu, a further R300, 000 was also incurred, although wholly suspended for six months.

Taking into account the cost of the sittings, which Chiefs have had to pay since last season, believed to be over R50, 000 per DC sitting, they would have incurred just over R1 million and the expense could have been close to R1,5 million, had they re-offended between November 2023 and April 2024, as they had a six-month suspended fine of R300 000.
With another charge on the horizon, what the supporters have cost their beloved club to pay over their misbehaviour in just over one year would be hovering just under R2 million.
