Johnson hints at 'problem' at Chiefs

Cavin Johnson has hinted at a 'deficiency' within his side as Kaizer Chiefs were held to a goalless draw by Royal AM on Sunday.

Amakhosi's top four ambitions suffered a set back after settling for a goalless draw against a resilient Royal AM outfit on Sunday afternoon at Harry Gwala Stadium.

Despite a month long break and ample time to prepare, the Glamour Boys faced familiar problems on their return on competitive action – the inability to finish convert  their scoring chances.

Chiefs made 13 attempts at goal against Thwihli Thwahla and while four landed on target, not one found the back of the net.

Speaking to media after the match, a disappointed Johnson indicated at certain problems had only come to light in competitive matches, although he would not be drawn into specifics.

"Yes, I think there is a lot that they (Chiefs players) need to learn," Johnson said.

"There is a lot that every game teaches you, how to get better and sometimes you don't find out what's missing until you play an official game.

"You might be able to play friendlies and that particularly deficiency or that particular problem in your team only shows when you got a different competition.

"It's a six week pre-season, we've all had it and normally this type of performance you would expect at the start of the season but now we are half-way through and it's the same type of performance. We will take the one point away and build to the next game.
