Mohamed Salah netted twice as Liverpool drew 2-2 with Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
Dutchman Coady Gakpo was the obvious absentee for the Reds, as Luis Diaz started ahead of Diogo Jota with Brighton showing a change in goal in Bart Verbruggen ahead of Jason Steele.
Both teams were on the losing side last weekend with the Reds going down to Tottenham Hotspur in controversial circumstances before the Seagulls suffered a crushing 6-1 hammering at Aston Villa.
The Reds trailed after 20 minutes when Simon Adingra intercepted Virgil van Dijk's poor pass and beat the outstretched Alisson Becker with a composed low finish.
Liverpool struggled to make an immediate comeback as the Seagulls battled for every ball to furthermore use pace to go wide and stretch the defence.
Nonetheless, the Reds didn't lose hope and levelled five minutes before halftime as Mohamed Salah connected with Darwin Nunez's switch of play and arrowed past Verbruggen.
Salah was in again on the stroke of halftime when he finished off from the spot after Pascal Gross upended Dominik Szoboslai from a goal-scoring opportunity following a loose pass.
Dutch international Ryan Gravenberch was put on by the Reds at halftime – replacing Harvey Elliott before the Seagulls stayed unchanged.
Liverpool looked to maintain their dominance minutes from the break and saw the self-same Gravenberch rattle the woodwork with a close-range shot off Szoboslai's layoff.
The Seagulls remained confident and with 12 minutes to go levelled as Lewis Dunk worked the slightest of space on the near side to guide in a free-kick.
As the contest headed to a close, both teams went in search of the winner before full-time but weren't able to breakthrough and 2-2 it finished leaving the Reds to more dropped points.
